What you would be doing

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FDOT and federal inspection protocols and ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Lead teams of Professional Engineers, Engineers-In-Training, and Technicians inspecting bridges of all sizes across Florida with opportunities for project work and travel across the country
  • Collaborate with field inspection teams to develop inspection schedules, prioritize urgent inspections, and allocate resources efficiently
  • Provide guidance and training to bridge inspection team members, including junior inspectors and technicians

  • Engineer Intern registration required. Professional Engineer preferred
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history and ability to travel on project related tasks in the region and nationwide
  • NHI/FHWA Bridge Inspection Courses and/or SPRAT Certification desired
  • Ability to perform design calculations and load rating of existing bridges
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. of gear and must be capable of high levels of physical exertion
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with clients in either the public or private sector
  • AASHTOWare, BrM or other Bridge Inspection & Design/Rating software experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and/or MicroStation required
  • 2+ years of bridge inspection engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering program
