- Teamwork – Elicit feedback and cooperation from a wide variety of sources, project team members, other internal resources and client representatives.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate office equipment such as computers, telephones, fax machines and copiers.
- Organization – Manage competing demands; organize workload to efficiently utilize time.
- Incumbents will occasionally lift object up to 50 lbs.
- Coordinate daily activity of assigned Drafting staff based on project schedule to ensure timely completion. Work with Drafting Leads, Project Managers, Engineers and other internal stakeholders to prioritize Drafting group work.
- Quality Focus – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve quality of project deliverables.
- Work with Project Managers and Engineers to estimate quantities of design drawings for complete design packages.
- Complete the deliverables for the detail design phase of a project.
- Evaluate and implement CAD software-based efficiency tools.
- Produce or assist less experienced designers in producing finished Electrical Design deliverables using CAD software.
- Support Project Managers and Engineers on a daily basis with design, drafting and mapping deliverables within the expectations of work quality, schedule, and budget.
- Check other designer’s work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and project specifications and standards.
- Ensure industry design recommended practices and safety considerations are included in all designs.
- Maintain project controls and records as required by Company and/or client policy.
- Develop complex electrical layouts, 3D modeling, cable tray designs, and other design deliverables that satisfy all technical requirements of a project from the preliminary design stage through the detail design stage.
- Recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.
- Work with team members to identify mistakes and eliminate rework.

- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a drafting environment.
- Requires ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving between departments or functional areas and clients for work production or service quality. Responsible for team building and team development.
- This position requires a minimum of 10 years of piping design experience. Experience in the oil & gas industry is desirable.
- Associates Degree in Drafting or Design Technology or related major, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Communication – Posses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Read and interpret communication styles of team members and clients who come from both technical and non-technical disciplines. Communicate effectively with remote offices.
- Knowledge of CAD software – AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, AutoCAD Electric or others.
- Software – Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Proficient in use of various CAD products including AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, and AutoCAD Electric.
- Problem Solving – Identify problems and work creatively in a team environment to resolve them.
- Incumbents will constantly; utilize written and verbal communication skills including active listening and speaking, and reach and grasp objects.
- This position requires regular contact with project team employees, employees in multiple internal departments, cross-functional team members, and client representatives.
- Incumbents will regularly; experience periods of prolonged sitting, standing, walking, travel/drive a vehicle, and lift objects up to 25 lbs.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
