The job frequently exposes the employee to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise. Safety standards and personal protective equipment must be followed in designated areas.
- Perform DOT inspections on light and heavy duty over‑the‑road trucks and trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment
- Test mechanical products after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications
- Diagnose faults using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
- Data and/or information analysis

This full‑time fleet mechanic role may require travel and flexible scheduling, including occasional weekend and holiday work.
The position is very active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day, as well as frequent lifting of items over 50 pounds. Vision, hearing, and communication abilities are essential.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, transmission, and brake troubleshooting fundamentals
- Ability to multi‑task
- Knowledge of all sizes of commercial trucks and equipment such as skid steer, excavator, dump truck, liquid vac truck, air mover, line jetter, combo unit
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license required for insurability purposes
- Two years diesel mechanic experience required
- Must have own tools
- Vocational or technical school diploma or certification preferred
- Ability to weld and fabricate preferred
- Class A CDL with tanker strongly preferred

The hourly pay range is $30 to $40. Additional compensation may include quarterly bonuses, a company vehicle, and other benefits.
