  • Prepare legal documentation, such as easements, deeds, and settlement agreements, to acquire or dispose of properties as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee appraisals and appraisal reports to ensure fair market value for properties acquired.
  • Conduct research to determine ownership of properties or land rights.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets and information from inception to completion.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders involved with a project.
  • Evaluate and analyze real estate documents such as deeds, maps, and titles to determine ownership and limitations that may affect right of way usage.
  • Negotiate with property owners, government entities, and utility companies to acquire properties or right of way access for a project.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to right of way acquisitions.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, including property owners, government officials, and legal counsel.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight or for extended periods of time, based on project assignment
  • Experience with land surveys, appraisals or legal documentation preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication at all levels within an organizational structure
  • Reasoning skills and ability to solve practical problems
  • Can endure frequent driving, standing, walking (numerous miles a day), navigating (on foot or in a vehicle), and balancing objects which may weigh up to 20 pounds in congested and/or complex terrain
  • Must have dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance
  • Knowledge of real estate and environmental regulations
  • Must be able to pass a fit for duty test
  • This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.
  • As needed, must be able to work in all weather conditions and in residential, commercial, and industrial areas
  • Must be an organized person who can keep data organized from start to finish on a project
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Previous experience in right of way acquisitions, real estate, or similar field.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency including general Microsoft Office products, design, and business enterprise software
  • Ability to work from home and an office setting, as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as real estate, business, or law).
  • Ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and effectively communicate project statuses
