The role is for an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) Drainage Engineer in the Public Works department, with locations in South Austin (Directors Blvd at I‑35) or North Austin (Louis Henna Blvd at I‑35). The position supports drainage projects across Public Works, Transportation, and Land/Site departments.
Key duties include performing engineering assignments with general supervision, preparing drainage analyses and preliminary reports, designing drainage improvements for transportation or public works projects, and producing construction documents and related reports. Additional tasks are assigned as needed.
Qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, EIT or Engineering Intern certification, and a preference for experience with drainage projects and MicroStation OpenRoads. Candidates should have strong communication skills and thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
