Wastewater Operator I

Description

The Wastewater Operations Technician ensures continuous operation of pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other wastewater treatment assets. This role is critical for maintaining facility functionality and compliance with environmental standards.

• Maintain and operate hazardous waste disposal injection wells and related equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Record daily system readings and pump leachate inspections.
• Perform weed trimming and grass cutting around facility infrastructure.
• Collect and process storm water samples as required.
• Enter data into Excel spreadsheets and maintain system records.
• Keep logs of equipment maintenance, repairs, and waste shipments.
• Handle receipt, recovery, disposal, and recycling of hazardous waste.
• Prioritize tasks, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Requirements

• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record (if required).
• May require Waste Water Treatment Operator certification.
