You are supporting design document production for a wide range of projects from complex roadways and streetscapes in urban settings to signature trail projects in the natural environment. You will assist the firm's designers to apply industry best practices to produce a wide variety of CADD-based deliverables, from concept to detailed final design plans for construction. You will support our multi-disciplined team to prepare quality, graphically consistent, and technically accurate deliverables. Working with our CADD team, you will advance your skills, assist with training staff in the efficient use of CADD programs and tools, assist in enhancing our CADD tools, troubleshoot issues, and support local technical staff. You may serve on CADD-related company committees to set policies and update standards. Toole Design currently operates multiple CADD and civil engineering design software platforms, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Bluebeam.

Toole Design Group in Boston, MA is seeking a talented full-time CADD Technician I or II. Are you passionate about communicating design intent using CADD software? Are you proficient in AutoCAD? Are you a team player that will help expand our CADD department? Are you passionate about producing quality construction documents efficiently?   • 1+ years of experience using CADD software for civil or roadway drafting
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Experience with Bluebeam including troubleshooting, custom profiles, and tool chest development
  • Associate degree or Certification in CADD Technology, Engineering Technology or comparable
  • Experience working in a consulting environment interacting with internal colleagues and external consultants
  • Knowledge in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting AutoCAD/Civil 3D software
  • Experience drafting in MicroStation
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  • Capable of efficiently producing high quality CADD drawings
  • Experience in drafting construction documents for transportation projects in AutoCAD
  • Experience developing templates and workflows in AutoCAD/Civil 3D

This CADD Technician position earns a competitive salary and great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, a health savings account (HSA), and a flexible spending account (FSA). All staff receive 8 holidays and earn at least 16 days of PTO over the course of the year. This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2 up to days per week. Our Boston office is conveniently located in Boston's Downtown Crossing, directly adjacent to the iconic Boston Common, within a short walk to all of the major rapid transit lines and close to both North Station and South Station commuter rail lines. Applicants should be willing to travel within New England to support public engagement activities. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit (Downtown Crossing, Park Station, South Station, SL4, SL5, and several buses including routes 43,7, 11).
