  • Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure BIM outputs align with project goals and support design development.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior staff, sharing technical knowledge and supporting their development in BIM and information management.
  • Develop and manage BIM models for utility infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure BIM models adhere to regulatory requirements, project specifications, and client expectations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies, and share insights with the wider team.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of BIM workflows and digital tools across design and delivery phases, including Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Common Data Environments (ProjectWise, ACC).
  • Provide hands-on support in clash detection and coordination activities, helping resolve design conflicts and improve project integration.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions, representing BIM interests and supporting the BIM Manager.
  • Generate detailed models, drawings, reports, and visualisations to aid project planning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver operational upskilling sessions and training workshops to enhance team capability in digital delivery and BIM practices.
  • Support the BIM Manager in developing and managing BIM models for utility infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain and update BIM standards, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.

  • Strong understanding of utility infrastructure design and BIM processes.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and supporting team development.
  • Qualification as a BIM information management practitioner (BS19650) is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and CDE platforms (ProjectWise, ACC/BIM360).
  • Foundation Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and supportive approach.
  • Knowledge of ISO19650 standards and regulatory compliance in BIM.
  • 10+ years of experience in BIM coordination and utility design within the Gas, Power & Water sectors.
  • Familiarity with GIS integration (MapInfo, QGIS), 4D scheduling, and asset management.
