Environmental Health Safety Engineer

Description

The EHS Engineer will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs. This role is highly visible on the plant floor and plays a critical part in identifying risks, preventing injuries, and strengthening day-to-day EHS behaviors.

• Support safety culture initiatives alongside the EHS Manager, ensuring department supervisors and leads have the tools and training needed to hold their teams accountable.
• Assist with safety training, emergency preparedness, and new-hire safety orientation.
• Conduct plant walkthroughs to identify hazards, verify regulatory compliance, and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and help implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, operations, and leadership to ensure safe equipment design, machine guarding, and fire prevention measures are in place.
• Support audits, inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping, including workers’ compensation and OSHA reporting.
• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

You’ll work side-by-side with an experienced EHS Manager who is driving accountability, engagement, and leadership ownership across all departments. • Hands-on approach to plant safety, problem-solving, and hazard identification.
• Understanding of OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field; equivalent experience also considered.
• 1–7+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment,
