Leading U.S. energy holding firm operating utilities and renewable power assets across 24 states.
Key duties include delivering vegetation management business‑plan outputs in line with financial, regulatory and business objectives, while optimising returns through incentive mechanisms. You will engage customers and stakeholders to communicate project plans, minimise community impact and reduce outages. Performance will be measured against targets such as Customer Minutes Lost, interruptions, satisfaction and other incentive‑based metrics, and you will oversee contract management, operational switching and safety documentation up to 33 kV.
The role also requires continuous performance improvement through analysis of outputs and feedback, integration of asset stewardship and sound engineering principles, and the promotion of exemplary safety behaviours across all activities. Where required, you will deliver maintenance, reliability, system performance and connection business‑plan outputs, ensuring they align with financial and regulatory goals and appropriate incentive mechanisms.
Successful candidates will have proven project or programme coordination experience in the energy sector, a solid understanding of the regulatory environment and its incentive mechanisms, and the ability to balance commercial, customer‑service and delivery objectives. Strong stakeholder engagement, effective communication at all levels, and the capacity to manage competing priorities using engineering and financial judgement are essential. A technical or operational engineering background, familiarity with construction and maintenance standards up to 33 kV, a recognised electrical or arboricultural qualification (advantageous), proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and a full UK driving licence with own car are also required.
The role offers a competitive salary reviewed annually, a pension scheme with a double‑match up to 10% company contribution, 36 days of annual leave plus a Holiday Purchase option, and a suite of additional benefits including share schemes, payroll giving, technology vouchers, electric‑vehicle and Cycle‑to‑Work schemes, comprehensive healthcare options, life assurance, financial wellbeing support and a range of discounts. SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, operates over 4,000 km of cables and lines across Scotland, Wales and the North West of England and is investing more than £5.5 billion into its transmission network to support the UK’s Net‑Zero ambition. The company is committed to inclusion, diversity and providing reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities or other needs.
