As Initiative Lead, you'll lead AGL's business response to key upcoming regulatory changes, including the Energy Retail Code of Practice (Victoria), AEMC Consumer Focussed Reforms (NSW, QLD, SA), and Accelerated Smart Meter Deployment.

You'll manage the full program lifecycle-from strategy and planning to delivery and compliance-working across teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met while supporting customer and business outcomes. Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and a solid grasp of the energy retail sector are essential.

  • Ensure a smooth transition to business-as-usual with thorough post-implementation reviews, robust reporting, and clear handovers that enable ongoing compliance and performance tracking.
  • Stay across the wider regulatory landscape to identify overlaps, support other change initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert where needed to maintain alignment and consistency.
  • Define and document the regulatory approach by analysing rule changes, clarifying grey areas, collaborating with legal and regulatory teams, and leading strategic decision-making via a Steering Committee.
  • Own the successful delivery of the Regulatory Reform Program-mobilising cross-functional teams, applying strong project management practices, and ensuring delivery meets time, budget, and quality targets.
  • Build strong relationships with executive sponsors and stakeholders, influence decision-making, and keep the business aligned and informed through tailored change and communications plans.
