  • Responsible for providing accurate data to carriers and freight forwarders for filing AES on FS’ behalf.
  • Audit and maintain accurate export recordkeeping for all FS U.S. facilities.
  • Manage daily business and commercial activities between suppliers, internal & external customers, service providers, and First Solar including inbound and outbound shipment tracking, expediting cargo, and coordinating and managing bookings and delivery of CAPEX, BOM, AdHoc, strategic materials and spare parts shipments.
  • Prepare rate quotations; file them and follow-up on missing information or requests for additional pricing.
  • Assure adherence to all First Solar processes and procedures, including ISO9000, ISO14000, safety, housekeeping, etc.
  • Take direction, identify problems, conduct analysis, and develop solutions independently and in collaboration with others
  • Prepare and distribute international export documentation for shipments originating in the US to global destinations.
  • Execute logistics coordination via truck, ocean and air liaising with import brokers, freight forwarders, inland freight carriers, FS Manufacturing facilities, customers and suppliers to meet delivery dates while optimizing freight costs.
  • Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for government, legal regulations and environmental issues.
  • File freight claims when applicable.
  • Issue shipper’s letter of instructions to freight forwarders for ocean/air/truck freight shipments.
  • Prepare monthly and special request reports as required.

  • Four-year college degree in Supply Chain or related technical or business field preferred; or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in cross-functional teams is required.
  • Proven computer skills in a Windows environment; Microsoft office, Excel and Word skills required.
  • Effectively communicate with functional peers and peer group managers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks consistent with achieving overall supply management organizational goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities at the same time.
