The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the organization and daily operations of warehouse assignments at the Palmetto Commerce Facility. This role provides clear guidance to team members in alignment with established policies and practices, ensuring consistent execution and operational efficiency. Work is evaluated for sound judgment, quality, and overall effectiveness. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for interpreting and implementing policies that impact warehouse staff, monitoring daily activities, and offering direct support or direction as needed to maintain smooth and efficient operations.

  • Responsible for quality as related to job duties, and has the authority to address issues of quality at any level
  • Maintain housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure materials are received and inventoried in a timely, orderly, and cost-effective manner
  • Supervision, training, and continued improvement of Warehouse staff and teams.
  • Monitor quantity and quality of commodities stored
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to operate basic tools, keyboards, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Work with the Quality Engineer to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA)
  • Compile and issue required reports, including inventory, dead stock, goods age, and consumption
  • Communicate proactively with the Warehouse Manager and Production manager on materials issues that may impact the Facilities’ ability to meet shipping schedules
  • Assess the availability of space and prepare stacking/storage plans before commodities' arrival
  • Establish proper stock levels to meet desired customer service needs and company policies
  • Carry out regular physical random warehouse checks of commodities and inventory
  • Continuous assessment of opportunities for improvement and any needed changes to management systems
  • Supervise transactions related to materials availability and open order accuracy
  • Regular attendance at Safety Committee meetings for review and discussion of the performance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OSHA); ensuring processes remain sustainable, suitable, and effective

  • Proven experience with SAP is essential
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk frequently, sit, and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • In-depth understanding of the cycle counting method and process
  • High School graduate or GED; and/or minimum three years of experience in assembly and manufacturing operations. Must have demonstrated leadership skills through experience
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Logistics principles
  • Solid computer skills in MS Office, Outlook, and SAP experience are a must
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment
  • Proficient in the analysis and design of supply chain solutions with a strong information systems orientation
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience is essential
