Field Assistant

Description

The Field Assistant supports daily utility electric pole inspection operations by handling logistical, administrative, and coordination tasks. This fast‑paced, field‑based role requires detail‑oriented organization, safety awareness, community outreach, and accurate documentation. The project duration is three to six months.

• Coordinate on‑site setup and breakdown of job sites.
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress and safety compliance.
• Capture and organize site photos and notes for documentation.
• Prepare daily field reports, timesheets, and logs.
• Liaise with subcontractors and vendors as required.
• Assist with public outreach initiatives.
• Maintain organized project documentation.
• Enforce safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.
• Run errands and procure supplies when needed.
• Serve as visual observer for drone operations.
• Support operations lead and project manager with assigned tasks.

Requirements

Work is primarily field‑based, exposing the employee to varied weather and active construction zones. The position demands the ability to sit, stand, and move for up to eight hours daily, lift up to 50 lb, and travel between job sites, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

E2 maintains a drug‑free workplace and, as a federal contractor, may require background checks, drug testing, and a fit‑for‑duty physical; certain positions cannot use medical marijuana even with a prescription. Reliable personal transportation is preferred for job duties.

• Hold a high school diploma or GED; related coursework or certifications are a plus.
• Possess at least one year of construction or related experience (preferred).
• Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
• Understand basic construction processes and terminology.
• Be proficient with smartphones, cameras, tablets, computers and office software (Excel, Word, Google Drive).
• Ability to read simple construction drawings or site plans (a plus).
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lb and working outdoors.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
