Description

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to layout pipe systems accurately.
• Assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, performing cutting, threading, welding, and fitting.
• Inspect and test installed piping for leaks, defects, and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan and execute tasks efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report malfunctions promptly.
• Document work performed and communicate progress and issues to project management.

Requirements

The Pipefitter Journeyman plays a critical role in installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across industrial and commercial sites in Chillicothe, Circleville, Columbus, and Lancaster. The role demands deep knowledge of pipefitting techniques, blueprint interpretation, and strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring high‑quality construction and operational integrity. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople is essential to complete projects efficiently and safely.

The Pipefitter Journeyman leverages technical expertise to read complex blueprints, perform precise welding and cutting, and solve problems such as leaks or misalignments, while maintaining clear communication with team members and supervisors to keep projects on schedule and uphold safety standards.

• Completed accredited pipefitting apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Valid journeyman pipefitter certification or state license.
• Proven pipefitting experience including welding, cutting, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and practices for pipefitting work.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or construction settings in Ohio.
• Certified in TIG, MIG, or Stick welding techniques.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• OSHA 30‑hour safety training or related certifications.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery or equipment for pipefitting tasks.
