Service Coordinators demonstrate the ability to advocate, organize, and problem‑solve for residents while coordinating programs and activities that enhance quality of life. They act as liaisons to community agencies, identify low‑cost service providers, negotiate discounts, and develop a comprehensive Resource Directory of state and local supports. They also sponsor educational events covering health care, life skills, and referral sources.
Coordinators provide direct customer service by assisting residents with housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, and day‑care counseling, while monitoring and relaying feedback from residents and families. They manage internal and external relationships using effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred) and at least two years of experience delivering social services to elderly or family populations. Candidates should have working knowledge of supportive services, local community resources, and a proven track record of delivering measurable results for residents.
