The role of Junior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer falls under Maintenance, Reliability, and Operations Excellence within the oil and gas sector, requiring 4 to 8 years of experience. The primary purpose is to lead end‑to‑end reliability engineering, develop maintenance strategies, prepare work packs, and drive operations and maintenance excellence across upstream and downstream assets.
Core functional responsibilities include performing RCM, FMEA, RCA, ACA and reliability studies on both onshore and offshore assets, and creating preventive and predictive maintenance plans with equipment lifecycle models. The engineer will also conduct criticality assessments, risk‑based inspections, and ensure digital maintenance adoption through CMMS optimization and SAP PM/MM mastery. Additional duties involve standardizing asset master data, supporting global IMDS implementations, and leading projects from concept through execution.
Leadership expectations include guiding multidisciplinary reliability, operations, and maintenance teams, performing capability assessments, mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations. The role demands balanced technical decisions that consider risk, reliability, and cost, as well as diagnosing failures to enable preventive systems.
Candidates must hold a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and possess hands‑on experience with reliability engineering methodologies (RCM, FMEA, RCA, RBI) and SAP PM/MM. Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
