The Tru Vue Process Technician works on the daily operation of the coating‑line production system, controlling system parameters and assisting with work‑instruction development, audits, training, and special projects. Safety is integral to the role, with participation in trainings, safety‑committee activities, and first‑responder duties. Continuous improvement and waste reduction are expected through problem‑solving meetings and root‑cause analysis.
- Operate gas, power, drive, vent, and pumping systems and associated testing equipment, including calibration checks and troubleshooting.
- Prepare samples for experiments and long‑term environmental testing; conduct tune‑in and design control of Tru Vue optical coatings.
- Monitor production yields, collaborate with technicians, quality assurance, and supervisors to troubleshoot defects and minimize loss.
- Record and maintain detailed, organized data and documentation to eliminate variation and share knowledge.
- Develop, audit, and update work instructions; train, certify, and support team members on procedures and special projects.
- Troubleshoot vacuum gauges, turbo pumps, power supplies, cathodes, and leak‑checking equipment; perform routine vacuum system maintenance.
- Participate in team problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and continuous‑improvement meetings to eliminate waste.
- Cross‑train in related functions and assist colleagues in gaining multi‑functional capabilities.

The position is primarily office‑based but requires frequent interaction with the plant floor where noise can be loud and mechanical equipment operates. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lb, as well as fine‑motor hand use and visual acuity. Communication is conducted in English through verbal team meetings, written paperwork, presentations, and safety documentation.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferred).
- Minimum two years manufacturing experience, with exposure to analytical equipment and computer usage.
- Familiarity with vacuum system operation and control; process‑control experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality systems preferred.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively, lead, and motivate team members.
- Sensitivity to multicultural work environments.
