The Senior Acquisitions Project Coordinator will assist a federal client with coordinating contracting activities and developing acquisition documents for professional services, software, hardware, and other IT equipment. The role works closely with, and under the supervision of, the Engagement Lead and Acquisitions SME to execute project delivery, craft acquisition strategies, and prepare planning and procurement documentation. The coordinator also supports identifying strategic opportunities to improve customer service within the client’s bureau and across the enterprise.
Key duties include drafting and coordinating acquisition documents such as Requests for Information (RFIs), Acquisition Plans, Brand Name Justifications, Requests for Quotes, Statements of Work, and Independent Government Cost Estimates. The coordinator conducts outreach to customer offices to gather use case information, facilitates data collection, and crafts customer use‑case write‑ups that feed into acquisition packages. Interaction with original equipment manufacturers, resellers, and other federal contractor teams is also required, as is attending meetings, taking detailed notes, and recording pricing and contract term discussions.
Candidates must hold an active Secret security clearance and possess either a bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience (or three years if a degree is held). Experience in project or program management, meeting facilitation, and technical writing is essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Preferred qualifications include at least three years of experience supporting multidisciplinary teams and developing FAR‑compliant acquisition packages, demonstrated project management capabilities, and proficiency with Microsoft O365 and web‑based applications. Knowledge of the State Department, public budgeting, and IT product environments (virtualized machines, cloud platforms, hardware) is valued. Strong oral and written communication, analytical problem‑solving skills, and a self‑starter attitude are also sought.
The annual salary range for this position is $98,000 to $163,000, with compensation determined by factors such as skill set, experience, clearance level, and certifications.
