  • Supports the project development siting strategy and the identification of prioritized areas for project development based on technology application and expected addressable market
  • Supports the development of greenfield self-developed projects or projects that may be acquired as part of single project acquisition or a portfolio of projects or sites
  • Supports project development efforts including: due diligence, business case development, risk assessment, contract negotiation and supports any and all activities up until handoff to EPC

  • Thorough understanding of engineering and economics related to power generation including concepts such as megawatt, megawatt hour, solar resource assessment/energy prediction, wind resource assessment, capacity pricing, energy pricing, investment tax credits and production tax credits.
  • Experience in, and/or interacting with the following disciplines: engineering & construction, business development, project development, operations & maintenance, finance, accounting, procurement, environmental compliance, permitting, and transmission, is desired.
  • Experience in asset acquisitions and contract negotiations is a plus, but aptitude and attitude are of primary importance.
  • Experience and interaction in regional power markets is desired.
  • Project management skills are required. These skills include the ability to work across multiple organizations, lead a team toward a common objective, resolve problems and demonstrate clear, effective communication skills.
  • Ability to identify project risks and mitigations, development of business cases for capital investment decisions (including forecasting of cost, revenues, and returns), and financial statements is highly desired.
  • Experience in development, evaluation/ due diligence, and execution of solar, wind or gas-fired projects is desired.
  • Familiarity with EPC, Power Equipment, long-term service and maintenance contracts and contract negotiations.
  • A four-year degree is required with a preference for an engineering, finance, economics or accounting (or equivalent) discipline; An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Self-starter that works with a sense of urgency; works well in a team environment; maintains a positive attitude despite constantly changing priorities.
  • Experience in some or all of the following areas: developing/executing (EPC) utility scale generation projects, electric system operations, generation O&M, generation engineering or project analysis and evaluation is required
