The candidate will design and build robust, elastic, and maintainable SharePoint applications, collaborating heavily with offshore and onshore teams. They will report to the Lead SharePoint Engineer and work closely with Product Owners, Solutions Delivery Leads, Solutions Architects, and partner companies to deliver a modern knowledge storage and retrieval experience for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include providing best practices for building SharePoint sites, creating SPFx components, managing document access, and developing Power Automate flows for approval automation.
SharePoint Engineer Johnson Controls is searching for a highly skilled and experienced SharePoint Engineer to work on the architecture, design and construction of JCI’s internal and customer knowledge bases. The ideal candidate will have an in‑depth understanding of how to translate complex product requirements into an elegantly coded, usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable SharePoint‑based knowledge base. The role operates in an agile environment with both onshore and offshore teammates and the leadership team, using iterative and cutting‑edge development methods.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and at least three years of experience creating and populating SharePoint sites. Required skills are strong experience with ReactJS, CSS, JavaScript, SPFx development, Power Automate, and building Power BI reports integrated into SharePoint. Additional experience with Google Analytics, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Azure, AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, REST/SOAP services, design patterns, coding best practices, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is desired, along with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
