A global engineering & nuclear services firm delivering end‑to‑end infrastructure and energy solutions.
This posting is intended to build a pool of candidates for future needs. The Project Engineering Coordinator will join the Engineering Management practice within the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) of Engineering Services Canada. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the coordinator will support the Project Engineering Manager on large, multi‑disciplinary transit projects ranging from $1 M to over $20 M, from design through completion.
In the engineering planning and execution area, the coordinator will collaborate with the manager to define project goals, timelines and deliverables, and will assist in overseeing various Project Coordinators (Package, BIM, Change, Permit, Environmental, etc.). Responsibilities include tracking design progress, identifying risks, facilitating resolution of technical issues, and developing and monitoring the Project Design Execution Plan to ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination. The role also promotes safety, clarifies scope, schedule and obligations, and supports the preparation of monthly project reports for senior leadership.
The coordinator will support technical expertise and quality assurance by facilitating the use of industry best practices, standards and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes coordinating regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables, encouraging innovation and process optimization, and fostering a value‑engineering culture that drives cost‑effective, performance‑oriented design decisions. Change management processes will be monitored in collaboration with project and technical leads.
Stakeholder collaboration is a key component of the role. The coordinator will work closely with internal teams, clients, architects, vendors, contractors and regulatory authorities, providing regular engineering updates, addressing concerns and managing expectations. Active participation in meetings, presentations and technical discussions will represent the engineering team and deliver expert insights.
Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (or related discipline) and possess 5‑8 years of relevant experience, including at least three years supporting multi‑disciplinary teams through planning, design and delivery phases. A Canadian Professional Engineer registration (eligible in multiple jurisdictions) is required, along with strong coordination, organizational, problem‑solving and communication skills. Experience in rail and transit projects, especially LRT, knowledge of transit standards, proficiency with engineering software, and bilingualism in English and French (required in Quebec, asset elsewhere) are valued.
