We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior technical role will interface directly with clients and the Arcadis power delivery team, overseeing project management, engineering, proposal development and business development. The incumbent will also handle day‑to‑day client engagement, coordination, and project execution.
The position is accountable for delivering projects in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, and Arcadis policies such as Safety, Environmental, QA and QC. Collaboration is required with Substation Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Protection & Control, EV Technology, System Planning and Studies, as well as other Arcadis business units.
The role involves coordinating the renewable energy team and providing hands‑on HVAC/HVDC transmission engineering, detailed design and studies for utility and developer clients across North America. Close interaction with other renewable sectors—including wind, solar and green hydrogen—is also expected.
As part of the Power Delivery & Renewable group, you will help improve quality of life while working in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment that values strong communication and partnership.
Key responsibilities include supporting, developing and delivering HV/EHV transmission line projects (69 kV‑500 kV), producing design drawings, studies, plan/profile documents, bidding packages and construction documents, and coordinating with civil, structural, electrical, telecommunications and geotechnical engineers. You will act as Project, Proposal, Program and Account Manager, mentor junior staff, conduct QA/QC and engage with clients, contractors and vendors.
The role may require up to 30 % travel to client sites and meetings within North America and potentially internationally.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, at least 10 years of relevant transmission line experience, proficiency with PLS‑CADD (PLS‑POLE or PLS‑TOWER a plus) and the ability to design HV/EHV foundations and construction packages in line with NEC, NESC, IEEE and local codes. A PE license and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering are preferred.

The salary range for this position is $97,600‑$146,600, dependent on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
