Key responsibilities include managing the seating chart and waiting list, accommodating special seating requests, presenting menus and explaining specials, handling reservations and phone inquiries, providing coat‑check services when available, and maintaining a clean, welcoming entrance. Effective communication with servers, kitchen staff, and management is crucial to sustain efficient guest flow, and duties may be adjusted as needed.
The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, greeting them with a warm smile to create a positive first impression of the restaurant. Exceptional customer service, strong organizational abilities, and keen attention to detail are essential to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from arrival onward.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. They should demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, a genuine passion for customer service, strong communication abilities, and preferably prior experience in a host or similar guest‑facing role. Flexibility to work nights, holidays, and weekends in a fast‑paced, occasionally stressful environment is required.
