Change Manager

Description

The Change Manager oversees the end‑to‑end change process on infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with NEC4 contract requirements and internal Variation Order procedures. The role acts as the central point for change governance, chairs change boards, and integrates inputs from contracts, programme controls and other stakeholders.

• Manage full change lifecycle from Early Warnings to implementation per NEC4 and internal Variation Order processes.
• Coordinate and chair change boards, gathering inputs from contracts, programme controls and relevant functions.
• Maintain a central change log with accurate documentation and audit trail.
• Monitor and report change status, highlighting delays, risks and required escalations.
• Ensure change processes align with contractual obligations and governance requirements.
• Support project teams in applying change procedures and contractual mechanisms.
• Liaise with commercial and controls teams to assess cost and schedule impacts of changes.
• Drive continuous improvement of change management processes and tools.
• Provide regular performance metrics reporting to Head of Contracts, Commercial and senior stakeholders.
• Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the change process.

Requirements

• 15+ years contract management and administration experience, including at least 5 years in change management.
• Extensive experience on large‑scale infrastructure or capital programmes.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and associated change mechanisms.
• Proven ability to manage complex change processes and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
• Experience leading or facilitating change boards or governance forums.
• Track record of timely, accurate change performance and risk reporting.
• Experience collaborating with commercial, controls and delivery teams.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and change tracking/reporting tools.
• Presentation and communication skills.
• Computer literacy, including CEMAR and Unifier.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying or Project Management.
• Professional membership such as RICS or equivalent.
