
Designs and manufactures power and propulsion systems for aerospace, marine, defence and energy sectors.
You will be responsible for ensuring all manufacturing processes comply with health, safety and environmental standards and the Zero Harm programme. The role includes championing product safety, promoting a zero‑defects culture, and driving Right First Time manufacturing. You will coach teams in RRPS, DMAIC and Systems Engineering tools, govern change through Control Authority boards, and specify engineering requirements while making technical decisions.
Strategic duties involve identifying and governing improvements and innovations, prioritising new projects based on business cases, and providing technical input to facility and supply‑chain strategy, including capital planning. You will integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing and Product Introduction activities, manage engineering load, capacity plans and budgets, and ensure production readiness of new capabilities.
The ideal candidate is a professionally qualified engineer (minimum UK BEng) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and systems such as CAD, CAM, CAPP, MES, SAP and technical publications. You should have led significant manufacturing engineering projects, managed change initiatives (e.g., facility redesign, technology insertion, new product introduction), and demonstrated technical leadership of an engineering team. The position is graded at Level C, with salary dependent on experience, and applications close on 22 January 2026.
