Staff Hardware Engineer

• Propose and execute automation and verification test improvements from concept through development
• Analyze experimentation results and reports from others to issue approval or rejection
• Design PCBs for prototypes, fixtures, and development tools
• Monitor schedules and escalate risks related to verification, compliance, and fixture test deadlines
• Perform PFMEAs and define test coverage for high-volume production
• Identify component alternates and validate substitutions to reduce BOM cost or mitigate supply chain issues
• Root cause factory issues using knowledge of manufacturing and design to isolate system/component-level failures
• Environmental, ESD, Surge, EFT, and compliance testing of products
• Research and execute applicable UL, CSA, IEC, or other specifications
• Adapt fixture and RF designs mid-cycle in response to product changes without impacting timelines
• Collaborate with teammates to improve test activities (reports, methods, procedures, fixtures)
• Provide recommendations on design integrity and readiness for mass production
• Build and iterate custom verification fixtures to enhance repeatability, scope, and throughput
• Conduct and review Gage R&R analyses, yield reports, and test issue resolution
• Translate ambiguous test requests into peer-reviewable specifications with schedules, risk registers, and metrics
• Prepare and execute reliability test plans to support warranty and service life targets
• Create and execute engineering design verification test plans with circuit design knowledge and best practices for DUT bench testing
• Design and build test instrumentation systems to standardize and automate data capture across many DUTs
• Design, simulate, and match antennas for Wi-Fi, BLE, and Subgig; validate with VNA, spectrum analyzers, and OTA chambers
• Coordinate test execution and pre-validation with firmware/regulatory teams including timing, margin analysis, and documentation
• Perform engineering assessments of test and verification activities against real-world applications
• Build Python scripts, interface with SCPI instruments, analyze datasets, and present test results
• Create production test plans, scripts, and fixtures
• Create documentation and reports of tests completed
• Identify and escalate design risk factors; validate and propose alternatives with cross-functional considerations
• Execute cost-benefit and risk analyses to optimize test decisions
• Prototype new circuits before inclusion in production programs
• Develop block diagrams, controlled-impedance schematics, and multi-board PCB layouts; lead design reviews and incorporate feedback
• Conduct HALT/ALT testing to expose vulnerabilities and improve designs

Our Hardware team includes engineers with specialties ranging from HVAC control to RF design, digital logic, avionics, test fixtures, embedded software, PCB layout, and power electronics. They bring their expertise to cross-functional squads with a focus on collaboration, learning, and development. As a Staff Verification Engineer, you’ll validate and deliver high-reliability products and test systems for next-generation hardware. This role is for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across electrical, mechanical, RF, and software domains. You’ll own the lifecycle of complex test systems—from concept and design to automation and compliance—ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and regulatory readiness.

• Strong understanding of RF principles and hands-on experience with lab instrumentation
• Proficiency in PCB design tools, SolidWorks, and Python-based data analysis
• Background check required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
• 7+ years in hardware development, test automation, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Complete precision hand-soldering of micro-coax, 0201 passives, and BGA reworks
