Description

The Senior Superintendent is accountable for the daily operation of a construction job site, overseeing scheduling, production, and the procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. The role supervises all direct labor positions, manages subcontracted work, and acts as the primary point of contact between the field team, project managers, engineers, and clients. This position requires full-time travel or relocation to the project site.

• Lead daily site operations, scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Supervise all direct labor and manage subcontractor work to ensure project completion.
• Serve as primary liaison among field team, project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Develop and maintain “look‑ahead” schedules and coordinate pre‑construction meetings.
• Direct timely procurement and delivery of tools and materials.
• Conduct regular meetings with supervisory staff, craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients to communicate progress and resolve issues.
• Resolve workforce complaints and grievances with supervisors and labor representatives.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Adjust schedules based on progress reports, material usage, and costs.
• Coordinate crew assignments with the Manager of Craft Resources to optimize labor costs.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, equal‑opportunity, and housekeeping policies.
• Prepare and support the Project Management Plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction‑related field (or equivalent) with ≥5 years commercial construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years as Senior or Lead Superintendent and 5+ years on industrial/cold‑storage projects.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel/relocate to job sites.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, blueprints, and subcontractor scopes.
• Effective written and verbal communication; basic Spanish a plus.
• Proven administrative, management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and maintain professional relationships and ethics.
• Proficiency with office equipment, MS Word/Excel; CMiC knowledge preferred.
