Strategic Planning: Translate complex technical requirements into actionable insights for ITO’s grid integration and load flexibility efforts, resulting in measurable and trackable savings. Support activities associated with the sub-program including the development, management, and execution of an innovation strategy which includes exploring areas of interest and participating in the process for and management of funding awards and projects.
Communication: Support DOE staff to prepare and present written and oral briefings and reports to senior federal staff, DOE leadership, external partners, and industry stakeholders.
Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to inform the research, development and deployment of grid integration and load flexible technologies. Have a strong understanding of the current technical and market barriers to technology development, commercialization, and implementation of grid technologies in the Data Center industry.
Program Management: Collaborate on the active project management of ITO awards and national initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with DOE staff and contractors in a program of activities to build and maintain relationships with leaders from industry and academia. As needed, engage in public-facing aspects of the ITO’s CST program.

Strong project management skills are a plus.
Knowledge of business issues relevant to the development in the data center industry, including key market applications, current and evolving structure of supply chains, and intellectual property considerations relevant to technology development.
PhD in electrical engineering.
Membership in pertinent associations.
Strong written, organizational, analytical, and research skills, and a demonstrated capacity for creative thinking.
Knowledge of grid technologies to recognize realistic opportunities for market expansion based on practical considerations and cost/benefit potentials.
10+ years of experience in industry or other related experience are preferred.
Experience in commercialization.
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or other relevant degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience at a data center developer/operator, a utility with large load accounts, or grid infrastructure developer.
