Overview

Operate finish rollers to compact asphalt and ensure smooth road surfaces on night shifts.

Tasks

-Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily production logs and equipment maintenance reports. -Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. -Follow company policies and procedures to uphold quality standards and promote a positive work culture. -Monitor asphalt temperature and moisture levels to optimize compaction efficiency. -Responsible for completing and documenting a daily pre-trip equipment inspection prior to starting the work. -Collaborate with paving crews to ensure proper alignment and compaction of asphalt layers. -Adjust roller settings to achieve desired compaction levels and surface finishes. -Conduct pre-operation inspections on equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs. -Work in coordination with other equipment operators and labourers to complete paving projects on schedule. -Operate finish roller machinery to compact asphalt and create smooth road surfaces. -Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and address any issues that arise.

What You Bring

-Must be comfortable working night shift -Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. -Ability to interpret paving plans and specifications. -Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in outdoor environments. -Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests. -Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by project schedules. -Excellent communication and teamwork skills. -Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and industry best practices. -Dedication to following company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines at all times. -Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. -Previous experience operating finish roller equipment or similar machinery in asphalt paving preferred.
