As an Applications Engineering Intern on the Systems Engineering Team, you will support the manager by consolidating, editing, and organizing standard work and process documents. Your work will include validating existing content, identifying gaps, and proposing new documentation. You will also champion energy efficiency, system affordability, and model quality and customer focus within the team.
The ideal candidate is a current sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline focused on physical sciences. You should be passionate, demonstrate integrity, foster an inclusive environment, and show a strong sense of accountability and ownership. Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship is required.
The role requires frequent walking, talking, and hearing, with occasional standing, sitting, and handling of objects up to 30 pounds. Work occurs in both office and manufacturing settings, and occasional duties may be performed outside a typical office environment.
The Watts Internship Program offers students the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world projects, gaining hands‑on experience across manufacturing, industrial engineering, and more. Interns roll up their sleeves to impact day‑to‑day operations and benefit from extensive networking opportunities with passionate professionals. The program emphasizes skill expansion, challenge, and exploration of career ambitions.
Interns are compensated at $22‑$24 per hour, with pay reflecting individual skills, experience, and qualifications. A flexible PTO policy provides one hour of paid time off for every 30 hours worked, and interns receive paid holidays. Additional perks include Lunch & Learn sessions for networking, exposure to sustainability initiatives, and the chance to contribute to a company recognized as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies.
