Marine Mechanic - Arrow Marine Services

Description

• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Remove and replace engines, mechanical systems, and fluid systems of commercial vessels
• Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements
• Install new and added-on equipment
• Perform a TCI/CSI on commercial vessels
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
• Repair cooling, and lubrication systems

Requirements

• Previous welding & fabricating experience is an asset
• Red seal for Heavy Duty Technician or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is required
• Able to work well under pressure
• Quality oriented and strong attention to detail
• Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision
• Strong safety mindset
• Must be capable of physically demanding work including lifting, carrying and ability to climb on tugboats, fishing vessels and barges
• Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics
• Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the marine industry or related field
• Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
• Electrical experience with 12/24/110 volt is an asset
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
