The Operator Technician 4 reports to the Shift Supervisor and follows senior operations guidance to safely manage daily off‑loading of LPG railcars. The role is unionized under ILWU Local 523B in Prince Rupert and follows a 4‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off schedule covering both day and night shifts.
The position is responsible for maintaining terminal safety, adhering to AltaGas policies, and conducting inspections, sampling, and documentation for each railcar transfer. It also supports emergency response efforts, performs minor maintenance and housekeeping, and assists senior operators as needed.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and possess the physical ability to perform terminal duties. Preferred experience includes two or more years as a railcar loader/offloader, Level II railcar safety and track inspection certification, and mechanical aptitude for equipment operation.
The collective bargaining agreement sets the annual base salary at $100,609.60.
