Payroll and HRIS Specialist

Description

We are seeking a Payroll and HRIS Specialist to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and effective management of our Human Resources Information System. The role supports payroll for senior living communities across multiple states and partners with HR and Finance to maintain data integrity, compliance, and efficient system use.

• Process weekly and bi‑weekly payroll for multi‑state employees.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure confidentiality.
• Manage timekeeping using systems like Kronos and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Reconcile payroll reports and address discrepancies promptly.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries via People Assist and email.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance on policies, audits, reporting, and month‑end tasks.
• Generate regular and ad‑hoc HRIS reports.
• Support HRIS module implementation and workflow optimization.
• Cross‑train with Benefits and HRIS Specialist for coverage during absences.
• Administer employee benefits deductions and enrollments.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Stay updated on payroll laws and best practices.
• Administer wage garnishments and coordinate with third‑party processors.
• Verify employment requests and provide timely responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years payroll processing experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Proven HRIS management experience; UKG proficiency preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax laws, and wage‑hour regulations.
• High attention to detail, organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Preferred: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification, senior living/healthcare background, benefits administration experience.

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary of $75,000‑$85,000 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short‑ and long‑term disability, life and voluntary life insurance, a 401(k) with employer matching, paid holidays, and up to 20 days of PTO in the first three years.
