The role involves ensuring original budgets and contract values are correctly entered in the accounting software, analyzing project data to track progress, and comparing actuals to budgets while investigating variances. It also includes supporting forecasting for monthly cost‑to‑complete meetings, communicating regular project updates to management, creating comprehensive reports, and coordinating team efforts for successful project completion.
Additional duties include conducting internal audits to verify cost accuracy and regulatory compliance, reconciling project receivables and payables, assisting accounting with proper coding, and performing post‑project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful elements. The analyst will also provide required documentation for internal and external audits and sustain all reporting for other requirements.
Candidates must have three to five years of construction accounting experience, strong proficiency in financial accounting and reporting, and excellent analytical and critical‑thinking skills. They should be detail‑oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication abilities, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Sage or Coins is a plus.
Working conditions involve prolonged periods of sitting, frequent standing, walking, and reaching, with typical office noise levels and occasional job‑site walking. Employees must have adequate close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
