From site selection to data center construction and operations, Stream develops wholesale colocation capacity and build-to-suit facilities for hyperscale and enterprise users in major markets across the United States. Additionally, Stream sources and develops low-risk land sites for optimum data center development and provides energy procurement services with a focus on reducing market risk and providing low-cost renewable energy options.
- Contribute to electrical safety program for site
- Perform physical tasks, including moving heavy equipment ( up to 50 pounds), operating critical infrastructure, crawling in tight spaces.
- Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment
- Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation
- Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity
- Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local electrical team and applicable local and global teams
- Provide support in a critical environment with potential for high stress decision making
- Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and global electrical system design improvements
- Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work
- Provide training to Critical Engineer Technicians and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes
- Plan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk
- Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise
- Occasional travel for factory witness tests, collaboration, training, etc.
- Perform extended site rounds that could include long distances of walking and long periods of time being away from a desk. Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
- Oversee electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems are in compliance with best practices, including change control processes

The Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be a part of the Operations team and will act as the campus data center electrical system technical operations expert. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection & controls systems, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes and standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will provide daily assistance to Critical Engineering Technicians to interpret blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems, support construction installation and commissioning, and assess electrical equipment conditions. In addition to technical capability, this candidate will be equipped with project management skills that are essential for team alignment to corporate strategies.
- Bachelor's degree or trade certification in related field plus 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ years relevant electrical industry experience
- Experience in a data center industry.
- 7+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience
- Experience in comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
- Work in a noisy environment with ear protection and eye protection; potential to work at heights and from ladders
- Instrumentation & control, power system protection, power automation, etc. experience
- Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
- Experience in high voltage (up to 345kV) equipment construction, operation, and maintenance
- Trade Certification or state license as an electrician
- NETA or NICET electrical testing experience/certifications
- Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
- Equipment field service engineering or representative experience
- Experience in critical environments.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
BenefitsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Base range $120,000 - $140,000. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons. Stream Data Centers offers annual bonus, benefits, flexible time off (vacation), 401k and a variety of other perks and benefits.
