The successful candidate will operate CNC milling machines to produce high‑quality rail components in line with production plans, ensuring precision, safety and on‑time delivery while adhering to ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Set, program, and operate CNC milling machines
- Follow route cards and engineering drawings for each job
- Use measuring equipment and DTI probes to verify component quality
- Select, load, and change tooling and inserts as required
- Operate overhead cranes when necessary
- Load, edit, and back up machine programs
- Perform self‑inspection, resolve non‑conformances, and improve quality
- Train new operatives and document shift information in log books
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE, housekeeping, and report incidents
- Communicate with second shift during changeovers

Candidates must have prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medium to heavy industry, with CNC milling operation and CAD/CAM skills. Ability to read engineering drawings, knowledge of safety legislation, and familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens controls are advantageous, as is programming experience.

The role works on a rotating continental shift pattern across four teams, covering 06:00‑18:00 and 18:00‑06:00 shifts from Sunday to Tuesday and Wednesday to Friday.
