Supervise Survey Crew (1-2 staff crews)
Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activities
Keep accurate, organized and complete field notes
Communicate with office staff on daily basis
Follows state specific standards of practice to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications
Assist with writing surveying reports summarizing site inspection and survey findings and conclusions; generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, technical drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and reports
Perform weekly instruments calibrations in order to maintain their accuracy
Work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks
Use and obtain historical data from property/utility records, deeds, land/property titles, structural plans, and other matrices for land surveying activities
Ensure that both you and your crews comply daily with WSP and client specific safety guidelines and provide required safety documentation and records
Operate and maintain robotic instrument, total stations, sdata collector, GPS (fast static, RTK and VRS), digital levels

Knowledge of various DOT survey and SUE experience
5+ years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior surveying experience with easements, rights of way, plats, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys
Knowledge of FAA sUAS Part 107 requirements and sUAS Pilot Licensure with relevant flight experience
Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience with both public and private sector work (e.g. state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
Remain current in latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Knowledge of Leica Based Survey Equipment preferred, but not required
Associates Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology or related areas
Excellent communication skills, field note taking, good math skills, ability to work as a one-person crew as necessary
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Transmission and Distribution Line survey experience
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening, including a valid Driver's license
