The Project System Design Specialist will perform system and signaling design, analysis, modeling, and simulation for communication‑based train control (CBTC) systems, turning customer requirements into compliant designs and securing stakeholder acceptance.
The incumbent leads the system design team, manages work packages, budgets, and schedules, and adapts design processes to project and industry standards while ensuring safety and high‑quality outcomes.
- Assess customer requirements, perform gap analysis, and develop architecture designs for CBTC systems.
- Convert requirements into conceptual designs, conduct simulations and trade‑off studies, and produce technical documentation.
- Create system, subsystem, and interface specification documents and operational concept descriptions.
- Support bids and proposals with compliance assessments, cost estimates, and technical presentations.
- Integrate safety into designs and resolve safety‑related issues early in the development process.
- Supervise contractors and system specialists, define tasks, coach team members, and monitor progress.
- Manage work packages, estimate effort, and track budget and schedule for system design activities.
- Lead technical discussions, present solutions, and provide status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor systems engineers, drive process improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to development standards.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field, have 6–10 years of software‑based system application experience, and senior expertise in URS/CBTC systems, together with strong leadership, planning, and communication abilities.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field with 6–10 years of software system experience.
- Possess senior‑level expertise in Urban Rail Signaling (URS) and CBTC domains (minimum 3–5 years).
- Demonstrate strong planning, organization, and leadership of technical resources.
- Preferred: Experience with DOORS, Polarion, Melody Advance, or similar requirements management tools.
- Preferred: Deep knowledge of automated train control, rail signaling, and systems engineering practices.
- Preferred: Work package management experience and excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
