The Operational Technology Cyber Security Consultant translates customer cyber‑security requirements into robust solutions for plant‑based GE equipment across power plants, wind farms, mining, offshore, oil & gas and railway sectors. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from offer preparation to on‑site commissioning, focusing on OT components such as HMIs, PLCs, networking, engineering stations, data acquisition and remote‑access systems.
Key duties include proposing OT security upgrades, supporting projects from proposal to implementation, assessing critical‑infrastructure requirements, advising on system architecture, defining device configurations and coordinating site acceptance tests. The consultant also leads cybersecurity meetings with customers and suppliers and works closely with colleagues in the UK, France, Germany, USA and India to align procedures and guidelines.
Essential qualifications are a degree in Cyber Security, Controls & Automation, Industrial Control Systems or equivalent experience, plus proven design and integration of HMI, PLC and SCADA solutions. Candidates must have strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, networking, IEC 62443 standards, and the ability to harden Windows and PLC environments, together with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred credentials include CCNA and GICSP certifications, prior experience with power‑industry cybersecurity, and eligibility for UK BPSS or SC security clearance. The role may involve up to 20 % travel for technical and customer meetings, both domestically and internationally.
