  • Maintain a broad awareness of Grid Automation product initiatives to ensure technical excellence, timely project completion, effective use of resources, and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in power system protection; participate in industry committees and influence the evolution of strategic technologies.
  • Provide expert-level technical support for HVAC systems and MiCOM relay applications, ensuring that both pre-sales and post-sales activities are aligned with customer needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with R&D to contribute to the product roadmap, including validating new products and product evolutions.
  • Design and optimize protection applications for complex schemes; develop Application Notes, articles, and guidance to drive product sales and facilitate Grid Automation project delivery.
  • Collaborate across departments and teams across multiple sites to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Collaborate with PL teams on the application and implementation of new or evolving standards and technologies within the product roadmap. Work closely with a multi-site team of experts and demonstrate proficiency in presenting and showcasing technology solutions to customers.
  • Focus on products from Stafford, Bilbao, and Markham, including P40, P40A, P40AE, 650, 3 Series, MM, UR, 8 Series, and legacy products. Develop and optimize protection applications for complex HVAC schemes and relay-based solutions.
  • Resolve customer complaints (ACT) related to products and prepare necessary communications, such as 8D and engineering reports. Take accountability for resolving critical issues, such as maloperations, and perform site visits for analysis, troubleshooting, or customer meetings.
  • Provide product and application training for new products and product evolutions. Develop and update training modules as needed, including customer training responsibilities in select cases. Lead or contribute to customer events like regional roadshows, seminars, in-depth training, and pilot projects for new technologies.

  • Significant experience with numerical protection devices.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 25% of the time.
  • In-depth knowledge of protection relay applications across transmission, distribution, and industrial sectors.
  • Significant oral, written, relational, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Advanced experience in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communications, knowledge level is comparable to a BS degree in Electrical engineering or Electronics & Communications
  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work in small teams and lead moderate initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in power system protection, or an advanced degree in lieu of less experience.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
