
We are seeking a 1st Shift CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center. This role involves the setup, adjustment, and operation of various machine tools including vertical turning lathes, horizontal milling machines, engine lathes, radial drill presses, and grinders. The operator will perform progressive machining operations on a wide range of generator and turbine components—typically large parts with critical tolerances and exacting finish requirements. While moderate supervision is provided, the ability to perform independent setups and inspections is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse components such as weldments, castings, shafts, forgings, and gearbox housings.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
