Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and NYC-specific environmental and safety laws. Lead audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
EHS Program Development and Management: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and safety programs across all phases of real estate development and property management.
Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as the EHS subject matter expert for cross-functional teams, providing guidance and advice on safety and environmental matters during design, construction, and ongoing management phases.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with external regulatory bodies, consultants, and third-party vendors as necessary to ensure compliance and resolve any EHS-related concerns.
Sustainability Initiatives: Support the company’s sustainability goals by integrating green building practices, energy efficiency programs, and waste reduction strategies into development and management activities.
Training and Education: Develop and lead ongoing training programs for employees, contractors, and vendors to ensure understanding and adherence to EHS regulations and company policies.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and identify opportunities for improvement in safety protocols and environmental practices. Develop and implement strategies to minimize risks and reduce incidents on job sites and within managed properties.

Strong understanding of sustainability practices, green building certifications (e.g., LEED), and environmental risk management.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NYC DEP, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
Proven track record of developing and executing effective safety programs and achieving compliance across multiple projects and sites.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health and Safety management, preferably within real estate development, construction, or property management.
