Description

• Gather, validate, and organize data from Azure SQL databases and Excel.
• Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness in reports and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain SQL databases to support reporting requirements.
• Create dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI.
• Produce visually engaging reports for business users.
• Maintain and update existing reporting tools and templates.
• Prepare financial and operational reports, including cost analysis and forecasting.
• Contribute to simple financial models under guidance.
• Evaluate business needs and identify data‑driven improvement opportunities.
• Support month‑end deliverables to Finance and explain variances.
• Document workflows and pinpoint inefficiencies.
• Assist small‑scale process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Apply design‑thinking and user‑focused approaches to improve data usability.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting and data needs.

Requirements

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Business & Data Analyst, ideal for someone early in their analytics career. The analyst will support senior analysts and business stakeholders by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to drive operational efficiency and data‑driven decision‑making.

Candidates should have post‑secondary education in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, and 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack, especially Power BI. Proficiency in SQL, Azure SQL DB, DAX, and advanced Excel is required, along with strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Post‑secondary education in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years hands‑on experience with Microsoft BI stack, especially Power BI.
• Proficient in SQL and Azure SQL DB, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Experience with integration tools such as Logic Apps, Function Apps, Functions, and API Management.
• Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Skilled in data modeling and visualization across various schemas and BI methodologies.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charts, graphs).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and thrive in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.

The Business Analyst role is a full‑time, regular position in the Builder Division, reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Markets Strategy and Analytics, located in Markham. Compensation ranges from $69,136 to $110,618, including base salary and potential incentive pay, determined by skills and experience.
