The Journeyman role at Bergelectric Corp involves installing new electrical systems and repairing existing ones across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations. The position requires strict adherence to national, state, and local electrical codes as well as Bergelectric Corp policies, and is classified as safety‑sensitive.
In this position you will install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, using hand and power tools to measure, cut, bend, and thread wiring, cable, and conduit. Responsibilities also include pulling and terminating wires in control centers and distribution boxes, building control panels from drawings, preparing schematic diagrams, delegating tasks, training staff, and communicating effectively with foremen and crew to meet productivity targets.
Candidates must hold a current Journeyman Wireman license where required and be capable of installing lighting, fire‑protection, security, and data‑network power systems. Experience with electrical single‑line blueprints, fault diagnosis, control‑panel construction, and project or crew management is essential, along with strong leadership, pre‑planning, and material‑estimation skills.
The role demands physical effort such as lifting and pulling up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, bending conduit, and working while wearing a 25 lb tool belt. Employees must be able to squat, stoop, or kneel for extended periods and operate in varied weather conditions and high‑noise environments.
