In this role, you will lead development of backend systems that power our core platform. You’ll design and scale services that handle complex workflows, integrate data from thousands of devices, and ensure the reliability of our growing systems. Your work will directly impact how effectively our technology operates at scale.

Ensure reliability, security, and observability across distributed systems handling continuous sensor data from the field.
Contribute to architecture decisions that improve communication efficiency, platform scalability, and system resilience.
Build and optimize data pipelines and APIs that power fleet health, event reporting, and operator tools.
Collaborate with firmware, data, and frontend teams to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality across hardware and cloud.
Design and scale backend services that connect thousands of Gridware devices to the cloud, enabling real-time monitoring and fault detection.

Ability to thrive in a low-structure, high-autonomy environment with competing priorities
Experience designing and scaling distributed systems or data-intensive applications
Experience building products end-to-end with broad ownership
Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Mimir
Strong expertise in modern backend languages and relational databases (e.g., Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL)
Background working in hardware/software contexts or other operationally complex environments
3+ years of professional software engineering experience in product-driven companies
