Key duties include registering (or preparing to register) with EGBC, designing water, sanitary, drainage, and road systems, and developing sustainable solutions with clients. The EIT will also act as the client’s on‑site representative, prepare cost estimates and tender documents, contribute to technical reports and presentations, and collaborate in project meetings to strengthen consulting skills.

Our Courtenay office is expanding and is looking to add up to two enthusiastic Engineers-in-Training. The role offers mentorship from seasoned professionals while working on infrastructure projects that positively impact municipalities and Indigenous communities across Vancouver Island.
The ideal candidate is a recent civil or environmental engineering graduate with up to three years of experience and is eligible for EGBC EIT registration. They should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, be comfortable preparing calculations and design reports, manage multiple projects independently, and possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence for travel to urban and remote sites. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, or PCSWMM is considered an asset.
- Register as an Engineer‑in‑Training with EGBC (or equivalent) upon eligibility.
- Recent civil or environmental engineering graduate with ≤3 years experience.
- Eligible for EGBC EIT registration and holds a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication; proactive listening skills.
- Familiarity with engineering calculations, design reports, and cost estimating.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a self‑directed environment.
