The role involves a wide range of structural engineering services, from design and Engineer of Record responsibilities to client consulting and cross‑disciplinary support. Success in the position requires creative problem‑solving, teamwork, and a curiosity for multidisciplinary work, as well as an interest in marketing and business development.

• Design and serve as, or collaborate with, the structural Engineer of Record for new construction, renovations, and additions.
• Provide structural consultations to clients and prospective clients.
• Support MEP departments on infrastructure and fit‑out projects.
• Adapt designs across commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, and retail sectors.
• Contribute to any structural engineering path that aligns with BALA’s vision.

Requirements

The BALA Structures Group is hiring a motivated structural engineer for its New York office. Candidates should have at least ten years of experience and strong interpersonal skills for client relationship development. The firm seeks diverse talent to help expand its structural engineering practice.

• Hold a structural or civil engineering degree with a structural emphasis from an accredited institution.
• Be a Registered EIT with a focus on structural engineering; PE registration preferred.
• Possess 10+ years of experience in structural design of buildings.
• Demonstrate creative problem‑solving and strong research abilities.
• Work effectively both independently and within team environments.
