Principal Environmental Consultant

Description

In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading contaminated land and environmental projects, supporting technical excellence, and ensuring high-quality reporting for our clients. You’ll help shape the future of our environmental services while fostering collaboration across disciplines.

• Collaborating with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
• Conducting industrial and commercial site assessments, including hazardous substances evaluations.
• Leading contaminated land projects from planning to completion.
• Growing and maintaining environmental consulting opportunities across New Zealand.
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to professional standards.
• Analysing and interpreting technical data, preparing high-quality client reports.
• Mentoring and supporting team members to build capability and maintain high-quality delivery.
• Ensuring QA/QC processes are applied across all projects.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Resource Management Act; experience presenting expert evidence preferred.
• Recognised leader with a track record of attracting and securing business.
• Bachelor’s or higher in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in environmental science or engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing.
