  • Initialized non-stock material into inventory.
  • Stock roto bins, shelves, and other locations as required.
  • Dispose of material that is damaged, surplus, or has exceeded it's shelf life.
  • Operate storeroom equipment in a safe and efficient manner; report any malfunctions of equipment.
  • Understand storage levels and maintain strict compliance for storing material within these levels at the Nuclear Storeroom.
  • Know and demonstrate the correct use of personal safety equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, goggles, face shields, eye wash stations, respirators, air packs, etc.)
  • Respond during emergencies such as violent weather, chemical spills, oil spills, call-outs, etc.
  • Identify and return material from user departments and ensure that the material meets the original or useable condition.
  • Initiate material claim procedures.
  • Properly package material for shipping and storing.
  • Transfer material between storerooms using MTTs and ITLs.
  • Disassemble and repair reusable material.
  • Issue stock and non-stock material using first-in/first-out method to ensure items are not issued with expired shelf life.
  • Assist with the revamping of bins, shelves, and racks, as needed, to keep material in an organized manner.
  • Deliver and return material for maintenance satellite storerooms.
  • Write material problem vendor reports.
  • Receive material via POs, MTrs, ITIs, etc.
  • Participate, as required, in taking cycle counts.
  • Issue material to user departments.
  • Operate a forklift and stake body truck safely.
  • Prepare Stores documents accurately.
  • Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reclassify and adjust material into the storeroom.
  • Assist in keeping control of all material in the storeroom.
  • Weigh, record and process scrap information for invoicing.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Locate material properly by using assigned locations or by making new locations using the Bin Locator.
  • Pick up and deliver material as directed.
  • Inspect and ensure incoming materials are correct by meeting the material and shipping specifications as indicated by the purchase order.

  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties required of this position.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of items listed and tasks designated in the Stores Development Manual.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to properly use Stores equipment, cleaners, air systems, ladders, stretch wrap machine, phone systems, and tools, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with and communicate effectively with others.
  • Demonstrate skill in the use of tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to properly use a computer terminal.
  • Must be capable of wearing protective equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of location and use of portable fire extinguishers.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, damp, and dry environments required of this position.
  • Must be able to climb and work in high places.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrate, while performing the duties in Section B, the ability to react positively under stressful situations, emergencies, etc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with and use numbers effectively.
  • Must possess a good sense of dexterity.
  • Must be qualified to operate a forklift and pass the Operator Familiarization Course and be certified.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and use the FIMIS Materials Catalog.
  • Must be capable of working around rotating equipment.
